12:  The Horizon



As you can see, the image on the left the horizon line runs parallel across the image where as in the image to the right the image tilts to the right making it uncomfortable to look at.  This tends to be more of a problem in wide angle lenses.  Wide angle images are distorted especially with lower quality lenses but can occur with telephoto and expensive lenses as well.  It is easy to forget about the horizon but it is a fundamental in photography that one needs to always be aware of.  That being said don't limit your creative vision, use different angles and perspectives, just make sure you're doing so with intention.
